Detailed driving directions

Direction to get to Vaste (Poggiardo), 3 km inland from CASTRO:

    • From Rome/Florence, take A1/E45 south and exit onto A30 toward Salerno/Reggio C./Avellino/Bari (right after Caserta), and continue straight onto E55, keeping to the right at the fork.
    • Follow signs for Bari Centro/Brindisi/Lecce and merge onto SS16. Continue straight on.
    • Take exit “Tangenziale Ovest” toward Gallipoli/Galatina and exit at 11B-Maglie toward S.M.Leuca, back to SS16 for about 20 km, until sign for Maglie.
    • When the guardrail in the middle ends, keep the right as the exit for Poggiardo, Castro, “S.Cesarea T” is right after an underpass, visible only at the very last moment.
    • Continue onto SS275, following the directions to “Poggiardo /S. Cesarea T.”
    • Turn left when at a T intersection with a traffic light and facing a red house on the left.
    • This is Vaste. Turn right at the first traffic light and after 200 m you will be in the main square. Turn left, with the church (to the right), turn right at the end and park.
    • Walk to the right, into a small square. Ring at #26. You have arrived!
